This large museum is the history museum of the University of Tübingen. Along with exhibits of Egyptian artifacts and replicas of Greek and Roman statues, you will find a collection of the oldest carved animal figures that have been found in Europe. These ivory carvings were all found in Vogelherd Cave, which you can visit at Archäopark Vogelherd, and they are about 35-40,000 years old. The famous horse figure is magnificent, the most beautiful carved figure from the paleolithic, in my opinion. These figures are from about the same time as the Chauvet cave paintings in France, but no paintings have yet been found in Germany.
